You two are
What this means

So what does your love percentage actually mean?

Very little, and we would rather say so plainly. The percentage is real arithmetic — Pythagorean numerology on the letters of both names, looked up in a resonance table — but numerology is a tradition, not a science. Nothing in those letters knows anything about either of you.

What the number is genuinely good for is starting a conversation. A 34% is funnier to send than a 91%. And unlike most calculators, this one shows you every step of its own working, so you can see exactly how little is going on under the hood.

The AI reading underneath is where the useful part lives: it takes the score, your numbers and the relationship you selected, and turns them into a prompt about communication, timing and effort — the things that actually decide how a relationship goes.

Method

How the love calculator actually works

Most love calculators hide behind the word "algorithm". Here is the whole thing, step by step, including the table we look the numbers up in.

  1. Both names are normalised

Trimmed, lowercased and sorted, so "Alex and Jamie" and "Jamie and Alex" can never disagree with each other.

  2. Every letter becomes a number

Using the Pythagorean grid shown in this section: A is 1, B is 2, and so on to I is 9, then J wraps back to 1. Non-Latin characters are folded in by code point so the tool still works for Chinese names.

  3. Each name reduces to one digit

The letter values are summed, then digit-summed again until a single number 1-9 is left. 11, 22 and 33 are kept as master numbers instead of being reduced.

  4. The two numbers are compared

The pair is looked up in a fixed resonance table — the traditional numerology pairings, where 2 and 6 sit high and 4 and 5 pull against each other.

  5. A small variance is applied

Drawn from the exact spelling of both names, so two couples who share the same reduced numbers do not get an identical score. Then the AI writes the reading.

This grid is generated from the same function the calculator uses, so it can never drift out of sync with the actual scoring.

Ranges

What your love percentage means

Four bands, and a reminder that a low one is not a verdict. The number describes the letters in two names, nothing more.

90-100%

Cosmic soulmates

Reduced numbers that reinforce each other, matching elemental values, low friction on paper. The arithmetic is not fighting you on this one.

70-89%

Deeply compatible

Where most strong couples land. The foundation reads as solid — what gets built on top of it is entirely down to the two people involved.

50-69%

Opposites attract

Different energies, which can mean friction, or balance, or both. Plenty of 60% couples outlast 90% ones precisely because they never took it for granted.

38-49%

Growing together

Numbers describe tendencies, not destiny. Some of the great love stories in history would have scored badly here. Trust what you actually know about the person.

Questions

Frequently asked

  • No, and no love calculator is. It runs real Pythagorean numerology on the letters of both names, but numerology is a tradition rather than a science. Treat the percentage as a party trick and the AI reading as a conversation starter — never as a reason to leave or stay.
